Richard Mckinnon

Prior to founding DVBE Technology Group in 2016, Mr. McKinnon was Chief Executive Officer of MetaVista Consulting Group and was responsible for strategic planning and resource allocation strategies. He joined MetaVista in 2014 as CEO and had many successes partnering with state and local government organizations. Prior to his term with MetaVista, Richard held a variety of positions in similar companies as he gained knowledge and experience.

Mr. McKinnon began his career in technology as a senior recruiter where he learned the skills necessary to find, recruit, place retain and manage quality professionals. For over 20 years, Richard has developed relationships and skills necessary to open a world class consulting company that was chosen by Fortune, Bloomberg and Money Magazine as the “Diversity Employer” to work for, in the Western United States for 2016.

Richard thrives in a highly competitive industry where the opportunity is tremendous and the competition is intense. In 2013, another startup of Richards, TMSA, was recognized as the 26th fastest growing DVBE/SB nationally by the Small Business Administration. He was the first person to receive the Military Order of Purple Heart commemorative coin for service to Veterans and their families in 2012.

Richard has worked for over 20 years, partnering to supply the right technical resources for his client’s projects with a primary focus on application development and systems change. He has provided over 3000 consultants throughout the United States, and managed concurrently over 200 consultants on multiple contracts. Richard has led sales teams in excess of 20 people; has worked in all 50 States; in addition to Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East. Richard is a well versed public speaker, often found contributing at Veteran Events and Conferences relative to diversification and how to become an entrepreneur.

As an honorably discharged and service disabled veteran of the US Navy, Richard went on to pursue his interests and further his education graduating from CSU Chico. As thanks to his fellow veterans Richard volunteers for the Military Order of Purple Heart at their events. As a mentor and positive role model He spends time at the Sacramento Children’s Home and Big Brothers of America. He has served on the board of directors for several non-profit foundations, and philanthropically contributes to the American Cancer Society.
